Hulu is currently developing the How I Met Your Mother spinoff series starring Hilary Duff, and it seems she’ll be in good company once this shows comes out. Chris Lowell is set to join the former Disney star in this promising project, titled How I Met Your Father.

This comedy series will center on Sophie and her close-knit group of friends, as they try to figure out who they are, what they want out of life, and how to fall in love in the age of dating apps and limitless options. Sophie will retell the story of meeting the love of her life to her kids in the same way Ted Mosby did in the original series.

Lowell joins Duff in the role of Sophie’s friend Jesse, who’s been described as an aspiring musician who works as an Uber driver to make ends meet and lives with his best friend Tom. He’s also smart, edgy, and cynical about love.

Lowell is no stranger to being a supporting player in female-driven comedy shows. He’s best known for his role in the Netflix series GLOW, while his most recent credits include the roles in Promising Young Woman and Breaking News in Yuba County.
