Chris Pine is fresh off starring in the box-office hit Dungeons and Dragons and he’s gearing up for a role in another promising project. He’ll play King Magnifico in Disney Animation’s upcoming musical comedy Wish.

Wish will center on witty and optimistic 17-year-old girl Asha (Ariana DeBose), who lives in the Kingdom of Roses. After sensing darkness no one else can see, she makes a wish so powerful that her plea is answered by a cosmic force named Star.

Pine will play King Magnifico, a ruler of a magical kingdom where wishes really do come true, and the film’s executive producer Jennifer Lee can’t wait to welcome him on board.

“As the most powerful person in the kingdom, King Magnifico needed to be played by someone who could give all the charm, cleverness, and charisma to this magnanimous character, and Chris is beautifully bringing all of that and then some,” she said in a statement.

Wish will also star Alan Tudyk as Valentino, while the rest of the voice cast is yet to be announced ahead of the film’s November 22 release date. David Metzger will compose the film’s score, with Julia Michaels and Benjamin Rice writing the original songs.
