Our favorite lasagna-loving kitty Garfield will soon be the star of a new animated movie, and you won’t believe who’s voicing him. After being cast as the voice of Super Mario, Chris Pratt is set to channel his inner lazy cat in the upcoming Garfield animated movie.

After the news broke online, the Guardians of the Galaxy star confirmed it by posting a photo of Garfield, followed by a caption “Well this Monday doesn’t suck…” Alcon Entertainment is producing the movie, after getting the rights to Garfield from his creator Jim Davis.

Mark Dindal, best known for his work on Chicken Little and Emperor’s New Groove, has been hired as the director. David Reynolds, who received a screenwriting Oscar nod for Finding Nemo, will be in charge of writing the script.

Pratt is no stranger to voice work. He played the lead in The Lego Movie series and Pixar’s Onward and has recently been cast as Super Mario in the upcoming animated movie about the beloved video game character. He’s currently attached to several more non-animated movies, including Jurassic World: Dominion and Marvel’s Thor: Love and Thunder and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
