Fargo was always known for its dark and subtle sense of humor, but it’s about to become even more hilarious. Famous comedian and big fan of the anthology series Chris Rock just joined the cast of the upcoming season 4.

Acclaimed limited series will seemingly ditch Minnesota in this new season and move to Kansas City. It will take place during the ‘50s, throwing viewers back in time once again. They probably won’t mind it since the story seems as captivating as it gets. It will center on two criminal syndicates – one Italian, one African-American – who have struck an uneasy peace.

They come up with an extremely unusual way to mark this truce – trading their eldest sons. The two rivals end up raising the son of their enemy as their own, but everything changes when the head of the Kansas City mafia unexpectedly dies. Plot-line of season 4 was described as the story of “immigration and assimilation and the things we do for money.” In other words – another typical Fargo tale, with hints of humor here and there.

Chris Rock is the only star attached to the project at the moment, and he’ll play the leader of African-American syndicate. There is no premiere date for season 4 just yet, but it probably won’t air until 2020. Noah Hawley, who based the series on Oscar-winning film from 1996, will write the new chapter.
