Two Saturday Night Live alums are teaming up for Saving Kenan.

Multiple outlets announce that Chris Rock is officially on board the NBC comedy pilot starring  Kenan Thompson. While Rock was an SNL cast member from 1990-93, a decade before Thompson joined in 2003.

The stand up comedian and actor has been tapped to direct the single-camera pilot about a newly widowed dad (Thompson) determined to be everything for his kids while begrudgingly letting his persistent father-in-law become more involved in their lives.

Rock and Thompson will also executive produce the show written by Jackie Clarke. Lorne Michaels, and Andrew Singer are also on board as executive producers.

Should the pilot be picked up to series, Rock will continue to exec producer, and Thompson will most likely leave SNL as a full-time cast member.
