Christian Bale is currently busy promoting his new movie Ford v Ferrari, but some of the questions he’s getting from reporters are related to one of the biggest hits of his career – The Dark Knight.
This 2008 superhero film featured the most memorable appearance of the iconic villain Joker, played by the late Heath Ledger, who won posthumous Oscar for his performance. Bale was asked how he feels about Joaquin Phoenix stepping into this role and had nothing but words for praise for the actor.
“Joaquin is one of the best actors around, you know, and obviously I worked with Heath… It’s a brave thing to follow up that performance and he always makes interesting choices. Dying to see it, I wish them the best with that,” said Christian Bale about the new Joker movie.
Oscar-winning actor also discussed Robert Pattinson’s casting in the upcoming Batman movie and described the former Twilight star as a fantastic choice for the role of the Caped Crusader, that once belonged to him.
