Christina Aguilera is finally back with some new music. On Thursday the 37-year-old singer presented a new song “Accelerate,” which features rappers Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz. This song, co-produced by Kanye West, serves as a leading single for Aguilera’s new album Liberation.

You can check out below the song and accompanying music video directed by Zooey Grossman.

Christina Aguilera teased Liberation, her first studio album since 2012’s Lotus, for several days before the official announcement. Besides snippets of new music, some of the teaser videos posted by her on social media contained messages for her fans explaining the long wait for a new record.

“I love you. I know you’ve been waiting,” whispers the “Genie in the Bottle” singer in one of them. “It needed to be perfect for you. For me. I’m ready. It’s time. I’m finally feeling liberated.”

“I feel in life when you get to a place where you feel so comfortable and so routine, then you know you need to stop and start from scratch.” she explains in another one.

The 15-tracks long Liberation is scheduled for release on June 15 and besides Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz it will feature a handful of other guests including Demi Lovato, Keida, and Shenseea.

One of the reasons why Christina Aguilera waited for so long to release a new album might be the poor success of her last album Lotus. The 2012’s release received mixed reviews from the critics and ended up underperforming commercially peaking at number seven on US Billboard 200 charts.

Aguilera kept herself busy, however, with a coaching gig on the reality TV singing competition The Voice. She served as a coach in the first three seasons, and later came back for seasons five, eight and ten. The pop star also worked on a couple of movie projects recently, having a voice role in 2017’s The Emoji Movie and starring in Drake Doremus’s upcoming feature Zoe.
