It’s only been two weeks since Chuck Lorre’s latest series Bookie ended its run, but Max is betting big on its future. This acclaimed comedy series starring Sebastian Maniscalco will officially return for its second season.

Created by Chuck Lorre and Nick Bakay and led by Sebastian Maniscalco, this series centers on a veteran bookie trying to come to terms with the impending legalization of sports gambling, while also dealing with his unstable clients, family, and co-workers in Los Angeles.

Maniscalco leads the series in the role of Danny, and he had great support from his fellow co-stars Omar Dorsey, Andrea Anders, Vanessa Ferlito, Jorge Garcia, Maxim Swinton, and Charlie Sheen, who reunited with Lorre for the first time since his Two and a Half Men exit.

Channing Dungey, chairman of Warner Bros. Television Group, thanked the show’s cast and crew for bringing it to life and said he’s looking forward to watching more of Maniscalco and Dorsey’s antics in Season 2.

“There’s no doubt that Chuck and Nick’s Bookie won big this season as they took us on a hilarious ride into the underbelly of illegal sports gambling, featuring a cast led by another dynamic duo: Sebastian Maniscalco and Omar J. Dorsey,”  said Dungey in a statement.

Season 1 of Bookie wrapped up on Max on December 21, 2023, after eight episodes.
