The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is coming back for Season 2, and its cast will be even more amazing the second time around. Ciarán Hinds, Rory Kinnear, and Tanya Moodie just joined the second season of Amazon Prime’s epic fantasy series.

The Rings of Power was developed by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay for Amazon Prime, and it takes place thousands of years before the events of the Lord of the Rings films. It centers on a group of characters, both familiar and new, as they confront the rise of evil during the Second Age of Middle-earth.

Amazon didn’t provide descriptions for characters played by Hinds, Kinnear, and Moodie, but they’re not the only new cast members to join Season 2. Sam Hazeldine, Yasen Zates Atour, Ben Daniels, Gabriel Akuwudike, Nicolas Woodeson, Nia Towle, and Amelia Kenworthy had also been cast in the next chapter of this epic story.

The Oscar-nominated Belfast actor Ciarán Hinds most recently appeared in The Wonder alongside Florence Pugh and starred in Netflix’s mini-series Treason. The James Bond actor Rory Kinnear is currently starring in Taika Waititi’s HBO Max series Our Flag Means Death. As for Tanya Moodie, she’s the star of the acclaimed series Motherland and we’ve seen her in Sam Mendes’ Empire of Light just last year.
