There’s a new type of Cinderella and this one is more concerned with becoming a fashion designer than finding her Prince Charming.
Camila Cabello stars as Cinderella, the familiar orphan who lives with her evil stepmother and wicked stepsisters. In this modern version, Cinderella, who goes by Ella, isn’t the typical damsel in distress—she desires to be a seamstress and launches her own dress line. After her evil stepmother (Idina Menzel) bans her from going to the ball, ruining her shot at showing off her custom gowns, Ella is greeted by none other than Fab G (Billy Porter). She makes a statement, getting the attention of potential customers and one charming bachelor (Nicholas Galitzine).
Kay Cannon (30 Rock, Pitch Perfect) wrote and directed the film. The cast also includes Minnie Driver, James Corden, and Pierce Brosnan.
Cinderella will be released on Amazon Prime on September 3. Check out the trailer below.
