Citadel made quite a splash since premiering on Amazon last month, and the streaming giant isn’t letting go of it anytime soon. Following the strong debut on Prime Video, the spy action series led by Richard Madden and Priyanka Chopra has been renewed for its second season.

This series takes place eight years after the global spy agency Citadel has fallen and its agents’ memories were wiped clean. An independent global spy agency Manticore emerged, and there’s no one left to stop them from creating a new world order but former Citadel agents who must recollect their memories and summon the strength to fight back.

Executive producers Anthony and Joe Russo are excited to bring this series back for another ride and see this epic universe expand all over the globe.

“AGBO is thrilled to embark on this next phase of the spyverse with Jen, Vernon, and the entire team at Amazon. The innovative storytelling of Citadel has paved the way for an incredible, worldwide collaboration with creatives in front of and behind the camera,” the duo said in a statement.

Amazon developed several spin-off shows set in the same universe all around the world, starting with Italy, India, Spain, and Mexico.
