Clancy Brown has been tapped to star in Promising Young Women.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs and Thor: Ragnarok star is the latest talent to be added to the call sheet for the thriller from Emerald Fennell.
He joins previously announced Carey Mulligan, Bo Burnham, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Adam Brody, Jennifer Coolidge, Laverne Cox, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Sam Richardson, and Molly Shannon.
Promising Young Woman follows Cassie (Mulligan) who everyone said was a promising young woman until a tragic event abruptly derailed her future. Now she’s a medical school drop-out, living at home with her worried parents and working at a coffee shop. It seems like she is at a standstill, except for the double life she leads at night.
Fennell is also producing the Focus Features and FilmNation Entertainment pic.
