The revival of the beloved crime show Dexter is on the way, and Michael C. Hall won’t be carrying it on his shoulders on his own. Clancy Brown has been cast in the co-lead role in this highly-anticipated project as the show’s main villain.

Brown’s character, Kurt Caldwell, has been described as the unofficial mayor of his small town of Iron Lake, who went from driving big rigs to realizing the American dream by starting his own local truck stop.

“Powerful, generous, loved by everyone—he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for… God help you,” reads the official character description.

Brown will star opposite Michael C. Hall, who’s returning to the role of the titular blood-spatter expert who leads a double life as a serial killer. Clyde Phillips will come back as showrunner of this 10-episode limited series, which is expected to premiere on Showtime in late 2021.
