“Clueless” is Being Remade

Alicia Silverstone and Stacey Dash in "Clueless"

Were you of the belief that Clueless would escape the current trend of being remade?

As if!

Alicia Silverstone brought Cher Horowitz to life in the 1995 film about privileged students at a Beverley Hills high school which is based on the novel Emma by Jane Austen.

The film is set to be redone with a script from the writer of Netflix’s GLOW, Marquita Robinson, and produced by Tracy Oliver who penned the screenplay for Girl’s Trip.

It is expected that the classic tagline from the 90s version (“as if”) will be kept in the remake.

The phrase is a shortened version of “as if that were true,” adapted for teenage speak.

In addition to the remake, Clueless: The Musical is set to debut in New York in November.

Whoever plays Cher has some big heels to fill!
