The Connors are Back — Without Roseanne

Roseanne is out; the Connors are in.

Last month, ABC decided to cancel its revival of Roseanne after its star, Roseanne Barr, made racist remarks on Twitter in reference to an aide of former US President, Barack Obama.

The tweet resulted in the network immediately canceling the series which was ranked number one and had already been renewed for a second season.

Following discussions between producers and network executives, ABC has now decided to order a spin-off which will focus on the remaining members of the family.

The 10-episode series, entitled The Connors, will feature the same cast and crew as Roseanne, while the 65-year-old will retain all rights to her characters, but will not have any creative or financial participation in the spin-off.

John Goodman, Laurie Metcalf, Sara Gilbert, Lecy Goranson and Michael Fishman are all expected to star in the new show whose premiere date has not yet been revealed.

You’re up, Connors.
