Couples were on show at the 2018 Met Gala!

Whilst the fundraising event for the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute usually focuses on the outrageous and creative fashion, it is also a fantastic opportunity for couples to make their red carpet debuts.

Enter, Lili Reinhart and Cole Sprouse.

The Riverdale sweethearts have been spotted vacationing in Hawaii and smooching in Paris, but have yet to make their relationship red carpet official. However, the 2018 Met changed all that when the pair were seen walking the crimson runner arm in arm in H&M and Thom Browne, respectively.

New couple, Scarlett Johansson, clad in a gorgeous burgundy ombre gown by Marchesa and Colin Jost also looked rather in love, while Colin Firth and wife Livia Giuggioli looked as united as ever following a recent infidelity incident.

The theme of this year’s gala was “Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination” and was played perfectly by a slew of A-lister. clad in their wildest styles.

Pop icon Rihanna went all out with a headpiece evocative of a Pope’s mitre:
