Lilo & Stitch is the latest Disney animated classic getting a live-action treatment, and several major roles have already been cast. The Emmy-winning actor Courtney B. Vance is the latest cast member to join the film’s ensemble in the role of Cobra Bubbles.

Cobra Bubbles was voiced by the Pulp Fiction star Ving Rhames in the original film, and the character underwent a major rewrite after Jeff Goldblum declined the role. He is a former CIA agent who was assigned as a social worker for Lilo.

Courtney B. Vance is a Tony and Emmy winner, whose career in Hollywood spans four decades. He earned his second Emmy for his recent guest starring role on HBO’s Lovecraft Country, and his recent credits include the TV series Genius: Aretha and films The Photograph and Project Power.

Vance is a welcomed addition to the cast of Lilo & Stitch after the film stirred colorism debate following the casting of Sydney Agudong as Nani and Kahiau Machado as David, despite their lack of resemblance to the original characters.

Lilo & Stitch will also star newcomer Maia Kealoha as Lilo, with Billy Magnussen and Zach Galifianakis in supporting roles. Dean Fleischer Camp will direct the live-action remake, while Chris Kekaniokalani Bright wrote the script.
