The much anticipated Paramount+ revival of Criminal Minds is “dead” according to Paget Brewster, who played FBI supervisory special agent Emily Prentiss in the series.

The actress addressed the status of the revival on Twitter after a follower asked her, “Any news on the #CriminalMIndsrevival?”

“No, and sadly, we think it’s dead,” Brewster responded. “I’ll let you know if there is any progress but it seems unlikely. Which is a bummer.”

Back in February, the streaming service revealed a revival was in early development. The revival was going to investigate a single case over 10 episodes.

Criminal Minds aired for 324 episodes on CBS between 2005 and 2020. The series was created by Jeff Davis and it followed a group of criminal profilers, who worked for the FBI’s Behavioral Analysis Unit. The group used behavioral analysis and profiling to investigate crimes while dealing with personal struggles.

Matthew Gray Gubler, Kirsten Vangsness, A.J. Cook, Joe Mantegna, Thomas Gibson, Shemar Moore, Aisha Tyler, Adam Rodriguez, Mandy Patinkin, and Lola Glaudini also appeared in the series during its run.
