It looks like Charmed reboot on The CW is indeed happening since the network already found the majority of the cast for the show’s pilot which is set to be filmed in Vancouver, Canada from March 19 to April 4, 2018. This reboot will revolve around three sisters who find out they are witches after their mother dies.

Madeleine Mantock, known for her role in The Tomorrow People and Edge of Tomorrow, will star as the oldest sister Macy. She was described as being in her late 20s and “practical, driven, and brilliant geneticist”. Macy’s power is telekinesis.

The role of second-eldest sister Mel went to Melonie Diaz, who previously had guest roles in shows like Nip/Tuck and CSI: Miami, alongside starring in several independent movies. Mel was described as “a passionate, outspoken activist” and a lesbian, who has the power of time-freezing.

Finally, the youngest of the three sisters, Madison will be portrayed by Sarah Jeffery (Shades of Blue and Descendants). Madison, who has the power to hear people’s thoughts is described as “a bubbly college freshman”.

Rupert Evans (Hellboy and The Man in the High Castle) and Ser’Darius Blain (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) were also revealed as part of the. Evans will star as Harry, college professor and sisters’ whitelighter while Blain will portray Macy’s “aspiring filmmaker” boyfriend Galvin.

The casting process for the roles of Mel’s detective girlfriend Soo Jin and Madison’s “sensitive loner ex-beau” Brian is still underway.

The CW had revealed plans to make Charmed reboot in January 2017, with plans to set the story in 1976. The network, however, gave up on the idea and instead opted to have the show’s story in present time, ordering a pilot in January 2018. It will be based on the story developed by Jane the Virgin creator Jennie Snyder Urman and revolve around three sisters “vanquishing supernatural demons, tearing down the patriarchy and maintaining familial bonds.”
