The role of Rey in the Star Wars sequel trilogy put Daisy Ridley on the map, and she’ll soon come back for more! The British actress agreed to sign on for three more films in the beloved franchise, which will see Rey rebuild a new Jedi order.

Ridley made a surprise appearance at Star Wars Celebration 2023 in London and shared the amazing news with her fans. She confirmed her return as scavenger-turned-Jedi Rey in three more movies, and said she’s “very thrilled to be continuing this journey.”

Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy will direct Ridley’s comeback movie, while Dave Filoni and James Mangold will be in charge of helming the other two films. Filoni discussed her return with People and said it will be fantastic to welcome her back.

“I’m so excited to see her come out on stage and the crowd roaring. Star Wars is generational and she represents that iconic hero character to a generation of Star Wars fans, and I thought it was really beautiful. I was so happy for her,” he told People.

We haven’t seen Ridley return to this popular franchise ever since starring in Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which earned $1.074 billion worldwide despite being met with mixed reactions from the fans.
