If you’re always in the mood for an adaptation of Jane Austin’s classic novels, you’ll be happy to hear that Netflix has another one on the way—modern retelling of Persuasion—and Dakota Johnson is set to play the lead.

According to the official log-line, this exciting project will center on Anne Elliot, “an unconforming woman with modern sensibilities, living with her snobby family who are on the brink of bankruptcy.” Her life takes an unexpected turn after her former suitor Frederick Wentworth returns to her life, and she has to choose between giving him a second chance or putting the past behind.

Persuasion has been adapted on several occasions, most notably as a 2007 TV movie starring Sally Hawkins and Rupert Penry-Jones. The latest version will be adapted by Ron Bass and Alice Victoria Winslow, with Carrie Cracknell making her feature directing debut.

Persuasion isn’t the only high-profile project that Johnson is currently attached to. She’s also set to star in Maggie Gyllenhaal’s directing debut The Lost Daughter and Stephanie Allynne and Tig Notaro’s Am I OK?
