Actor Daniel Webber has been cast in the forthcoming drama series Billy The Kid.
Webber is set to star opposite Tom Blyth in the series penned by Michael Hirst, the creator of Vikings and The Tudors.
The series from Epix is described as an epic romantic adventure is based on the life of William H. Bonney (Blyth)—also known as Billy the Kid. The story tracks his humble Irish roots and early days as a cowboy and gunslinger in the American frontier and his pivotal role in the Lincoln County War and beyond.
According to Deadline, Webber will pay Jesse Evans, who, if it weren’t for Billy the Kid, would have been the most famous outlaw taking part in the Lincoln County Wars. But unlike Billy, Jesse has already embraced a life of crime: robbing stores and cattle rustling.
The first season is set to include eight episodes, with the first two to be directed by Otto Bathurst.
Webber is best known for his role in Netflix’s The Dirt. His other TV roles include Marvel’s The Punisher.
