Daniel Craig is retiring from the role of James Bond after the forthcoming film in the franchise, leaving many speculate who will take over as 007.

Several actors have been thrown in the martini glass, with Idris Elba still proving to be the favourite to play the suave spy.

That said, another name has now emerged, with the source not to be scoffed at.

Danny Boyle was Bond producers’ original selection to helm the Bond 25 but pulled out citing creative differences.

After watching Robert Pattinson in High Life alongside Claire Danes, the Yesterday director now feels the 33-year-old would make the perfect Bond.

“And it was so bizarre, because I was sitting there thinking: ‘Oh my God, they should get him to be the next Bond,’” Boyle told The Guardian. “He must be in his 30s. How old was Connery? He’s ready now.”

If the Twilight actor is chosen to play the secret agent, he will have to pull double duty as he has just been tapped to take over from Ben Affleck as Batman.
