Dave Bautista has been tapped to star in the Dune reboot.
Entertainment Weekly confirms that Bautista has joined previously announced cast — Timothée Chalamet and Rebecca Ferguson – and will star in the big screen adaptation of the 1965 novel. There are no additional details about the character Bautista is set to play.
This isn’t the firs time Frank Herbert’s classic science-fiction novel is being adapted to film, the first to adapt it to the big-screen was David Lynch.
The new feature will be directed by Denis Villeneuve. Villeneuve will also co-write the script with Eric Roth and Jon Spaihts. The feature also marks a reunion for Bautista and Villeneuve who worked together on Blade Runner 2049.
Bautista’s other credits include Escape Room 2: Hades and Avengers: Infinity War. You can see him next in Stuber, My Spy and Avengers: End Game.
