Move over Jennifer Aniston, Sir David Attenborough is in the house. The famous broadcaster and natural historian joined Instagram on September 24th and reached one million followers in just 4 hours—taking the title of the fastest growing account from Aniston, who had done it in a little over 5 hours.

The Guinness Book of World Record has confirmed this achievement with a comment in Attenborough’s post. “Congratulations Sir David—a new record for the fastest time to reach one million followers on Instagram,” the comment read.

In his first post, Attenborough explained he opened his account in order to warn people that the world is in trouble. He said he would use the account to publish videos that explain “what the problems are and how we can deal with them”.

“I am making this move … because, as we all know, the world is in trouble,” Attenborough wrote. “Continents are on fire. Glaciers are melting. Coral reefs are dying … The list goes on and on. Saving our planet is now a communications challenge.”

The account will be run with the help of Attenborough colleagues, Jonnie Hughes and Colin Butfield. “Social media isn’t David’s usual habitat,” they said.
