David Attenborough is collaborating with the esteemed film composer Hans Zimmer and the rapper Dave for a new musical special.

The collaboration is for a BBC wildlife special titled Planet Earth: A Celebration. Zimmer has reworked original scores from the Planet Earth II and Blue Planet II documentary series.

Footage from the series will be shown while Dave plays the piano and the BBC Concert Orchestra performs the string section.

“I’ve always been a fan of powerful natural history documentaries,” Dave said in response to the collaboration. “This is a program where nature and music come together, so it was only right that I lent my talent, my time, and my attention to this project. It was a pleasure to work alongside Sir David Attenborough and Hans Zimmer.”

Zimmer also said in a statement: “Working with David on so many of his magnificent programs celebrating nature and our planet has been a joy for me. I am constantly inspired by what he is able to capture, and the collection of sequences featured in Planet Earth: A Celebration is truly special.”

Planet Earth: A Celebration will air on the BBC later this month.
