“Friends” Star David Schwimmer Joins “Will & Grace”

15 years after Friends wrapped up, David Schwimmer finally accepted an invitation to join another NBC sitcom. He’ll guest star on the upcoming season of Will & Grace, playing Grace’s latest love interest.

This role marks the actors first return to his prime-time sitcom roots since Friends went off the air in 2004. He became an instant celebrity thanks to playing Ross Geller, one of the most divisive sitcom characters of all time. Schwimmer did a great job portraying this socially awkward paleontologist and even received an Emmy nomination for his amazing performance.

Shortly after Friends was over, Schwimmer landed one of the main roles in animated movie Madagascar and its sequels. He gave filmmaking a try and impressed the audience with his directional debut Run Fatboy Run. Most recently, he earned and Emmy nomination for his portrayal of infamous celebrity lawyer Robert Kardashian in American Crime Story.

As for his appearance on Will & Grace, Friends star will play a new love interest to main character Grace in a five-episode arc. David Schwimmer isn’t the only familiar face appearing on the new season of this sitcom revival. Alec Baldwin, Chelsea Handler and Mary McCormack were previously announced as guest stars.
