Brec Bassinger and Yvette Monreal in "Stargirl"

Stargirl will move from the DC Universe to The CW for it’s second season.

The series follows Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger), a high school sophomore, as she moves with her mother to Blue Valley, Nebraska after she remarries Pat Dugan (Luke Wilson). While there, she inspires a group of young heroes called the Justice Society of America to fight past villains.

Amy Smart, Trae Romano, Cameron Gellman, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Meg DeLacy, Neil Jackson, Jake Austin Walker, Christopher James Baker, and Hunter Sansone also star in Stargirl.

Last fall, The CW acquired the rights to air DC’s Stargirl on its platform, and the episodes debuted on The CW a day after they were released on DC Universe. Currently, the series is halfway through its first season.

Stargirl isn’t the only show to move from DC to the CW, Swamp Thing which was canceled after the first season on DC, was picked up by the CW. Other DC Universe shows like Doom Patrol and Harley Quinn have moved to other platforms.
