Demi Lovato is set to star in NBC’s Hungry, which has scored a put to pilot order.

The single-camera comedy series follows friends who are part of a food issues group and together they search for love and success.

In addition to leading the series, Lovato will executive produce. The series comes from Emmy Award-winning writer and executive producer Suzanne Martin (Frazier). Most recently, she wrote for and executive produced the revival of Will & Grace.

Will & Grace actor Sean Hayes will also executive produce with Todd Milliner via Hazy Mills and Scooter Braun, James Shin, and Scott Manson of SB Projects. Universal Television will produce.

Mills and Martin are currently under an overall deal with the studio and Hungry is the latest project they’ve collaborated on. The others include Hot in Cleveland, The Soul Man, and Crowded.

Lovato has released six studio albums with the most recent being Tell Me You Love Me in 2017. In addition to singing, she is an accomplished actress. Her breakout role was in the Disney Channel original film Camp Rock and its sequels. She was also in episodes of the Will & Grace revival and Grey’s Anatomy, From Dusk Til Dawn: The Series, and Glee.
