We’ll have to wait until winter for the Primetime Emmy Awards to take place, but the International Emmy Awards are just around the corner. The list of nominees has been unveiled, and it includes the likes of Derry Girls and The Devil’s Hour.
The British drama thriller The Devil’s Hour is one of the contenders for the best drama series, along with Extraordinary Attorney Woo (South Korea), Yosi, the Regretful Spy (Argentina), and The Empress (Germany).
The British teen sitcom Derry Girls is competing for the best comedy series, where the competition also includes The Boss (Argentina), Le Flambeau (France), and Vir Das: Landing (India).
The list of notable acting contenders includes Martin Freeman in The Responder, Connie Nielsen in The Dreamer – Becoming Karen Blixen, and Billie Piper in I Hate Suzie Too.
The International Academy president and CEO Bruce Paisne described this award ceremony as “the pinnacle for recognizing excellence in television around the world” and added they’re looking forward to gathering the international television community in New York in November to recognize these outstanding programs and performances on their global stage.
The 51st International Emmy Awards will take place at New York Hilton Midtown in New York City, on November 20.
