Desus & Mero gave us one of the most refreshing late-night talk shows in recent years, but all good things must come to an end. Their Showtime series is ending its run with Season 4 after the comedy duo decided to go their separate ways.

A Showtime spokeswoman released a statement announcing that Desus & Mero will not be returning for a fifth season, adding that its hosts will be pursuing separate creative endeavors moving forward.

“Desus Nice and The Kid Mero have made a name for themselves in comedy and in the late-night space as quick-witted cultural commentators… They have been brilliant hosts, and we wish them the best, along with the team at Jax Media and the incredible crew,” reads Showtime’s statement.

Desus Nice and The Kid Mero have been an inseparable duo for almost a decade, having previously co-hosted the Complex TV web series Desus vs. Mero, Viceland television and web series Desus & Mero, and their popular podcast Bodega Boys.

They found mainstream success with Showtime’s Desus & Mero, which started airing in 2019 and earned the duo a Writers Guild of America Award for the best comedy/variety talk series. They hosted 180 episodes of the show, welcoming such guests as Charlize Theron, Spike Lee, Zendaya, David Letterman, and Usain Bolt, in addition to two American presidents.
