Michael C. Hall is coming back to reprise his role as serial killer Dexter Morgan in Dexter: New Blood and after the cliffhanger we were left with in the series finale, we can’t wait to see what’s next for the character.

“It’s come up in different forms,” Hall said about the revival at Comic-Con. “It never felt quite right in terms of the story that was presented or in terms of the timing. But, I think, along with everybody on this panel and along with everybody who’s ever watched the show and is a fan of the show, I myself have also wondered what the hell happened to this guy. And I think enough has time has passed and the storytelling opportunities were a lot more interesting for having more time between the end and now.”

Dexter ran for eight seasons from 2006 to 2013. Almost a decade later, Hall will be playing Dexter again for the 10-episode revival series Dexter: New Blood.

In the new episodes, Dexter isn’t living the solitary, lonely life the show ended with, instead, he’s started a new life as Jim Lindsay, an alias that’s an ode to the man who wrote the books on which the show is based off. But in the trailer, we see Dexter carrying a leather knife around him, so he seems to be up to his old ways.

The series premieres on November 7. Watch the trailer below.
