Rogue One: A Star Wars Story gave us several intriguing characters, and Cassian Andor proved to be one of the fan favorites. Diego Luna will go back to playing this adventurous Rebel spy in the upcoming prequel series.
This live-action series will launch on Disney Company’s new streaming service Disney+. According to the official synopsis, it’s set to explore tales filled with espionage and daring missions to restore hope to a galaxy in the grip of a ruthless Empire. Luna can’t wait to go back to the Star Wars universe, because it was a very special part of his career.
“I have so many memories of the great work we did together and the relationships I made throughout the journey. We have a fantastic adventure ahead of us, and this new exciting format will give us the chance to explore this character more deeply,” stated Luna.
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story premiered in 2016 to critical acclaim and grossed over $1 billion worldwide. A release date for the series based on this project remains a mystery, and it’s unclear if Cassian Andor is the only original character returning for the prequel.
