If Stan Lee was still around today, he would’ve turned 100 on December 28 and Disney+ found a special way to mark the occasion. They’re getting ready to release a documentary that celebrates the life and legacy of the Marvel creator.

Marvel celebrated what would be Lee’s 100 birthday by sharing a clip that features some of his most iconic movie cameos, captioned with the words, “100 years of dreaming. 100 years of creating. 100 years of Stan Lee.” The celebratory montage will be a part of the upcoming documentary, set to premiere on Disney+ in 2023.

Stan Lee co-created some of the most iconic characters from the Marvel comics alongside Jack Kirby and Steve Ditko, ranging from Spider-Man, the Hulk, and Iron Man, the X-Men. Following his retirement from Marvel in the ‘90s, he stayed a constant presence in the MCU as an executive producer and through his fan-favorite cameo appearances.

Lee passed away in 2018 and many Marvel veterans and fans marked his 100th birthday on social media, including James Gunn, Kevin Smith, and William Shatner. Stan Lee’s official Twitter account also marked the occasion, tweeting “100 years ago, Stan was born in NYC. Over the last century, his work changed the pop culture landscape & influenced millions.”
