Frozen bloomed into one of Disney’s most successful franchises of the past decade, and they’re not letting go of it anytime soon. Disney CEO Bob Iger recently revealed they’re plotting not one, but two new movies set in the Frozen universe.

Iger recently traveled to Hong Kong to attend the opening of Disneyland’s new attraction “World of Frozen”. He described it as “a fantastic land that enables people to get immersed in the story of Frozen and interact with all the great characters from the films.”

Iger discussed the opening of this new theme park attraction with Good Morning America and used his interview as an opportunity to share some exciting news about the franchise. He said that the writer and co-director of the Frozen movies, Jennifer Lee, is “hard at work with her team at Disney Animation on not one but actually two stories” set in this universe.

The first film in the Frozen franchise became a true cultural phenomenon when it premiered in 2013, and it went on to win two Oscars – best animated feature and best original song for “Let It Go”. Its sequel Frozen II premiered in 2019, but this franchise also includes everything from short films and TV specials to live shows and a lucrative line of merchandise.
