Disney has given us several hit movies based on their theme park attractions, and another one is on the way! The first trailer for the horror comedy Haunted Mansion is here and it perfectly captures the spirit of the Disneyland attraction that inspired it.
Based on a classic theme park attraction, this spooky comedy will center on a single mom and her 9-year-old son trying to start a new life after moving into a mansion in New Orleans. After discovering the house may be inhabited by ghosts, they enlist a motley crew of so-called spiritual experts to help exorcise the spirits from their new home.
Haunted Mansion was directed by Justin Simien, who said he can’t wait for audiences to experience this big-screen version of the iconic Disney attraction.
“As a lifelong fan of the Haunted Mansion attraction, I’m beyond excited to share the teaser trailer for our new film adaptation featuring an incredible cast. Our team has worked tirelessly to create a scary, funny, and cinematic otherworldly adventure for both new and die-hard fans to enjoy!” said Simien in a statement.
Haunted Mansion stars LaKeith Stanfield, Tiffany Haddish, Owen Wilson, Danny DeVito, Rosario Dawson, Chase W. Dillon, Dan Levy, Jamie Lee Curtis, and Jared Leto. It will be released theatrically on July 28.
