American Born Chinese is one of the most exciting new shows coming to Disney+ this spring and its official trailer is finally here. Two worlds collide in this epic action-comedy series starring Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan.
According to its official synopsis, American Born Chinese tells the story of Jin Wang, an average teenager juggling his high school social life with his home life. He finds himself entangled in a battle of Chinese mythological gods after meeting a new student on the first day of the school year.
Ben Wang plays the lead role in this action comedy and he’ll be joined by Everything Everywhere All At Once stars and Oscar winners Michelle Yeoh and Ke Huy Quan. The supporting cast includes Yeo Yann Yann, Chin Han, Daniel Wu, Jim Liu, and Sydney Taylor. Stephanie Hsu, Ronny Chieng, Jimmy O. Yang, and many more are expected to guest star.
American Born Chinese will feature a total of eight episodes, set to premiere on Disney+ on May 24. The series is based on Gene Luen Yang’s graphic novel of the same name and it was created for Disney+ by Kelvin Yu, while Destin Daniel Cretton (Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings) directed the pilot episode.
