Disney Channel has given us some of their biggest hits during the 2000s, and one of them is finally coming back! A sequel series set in the world of Wizards of Waverly Place is getting a pilot, with Selena Gomez and David Henrie returning as Alex and Justin Russo.

According to Disney’s official logline, this sequel picks up after a mysterious incident at WizTech, where an adult Justin Russo has left his wizard powers behind, opting for a normal, human life with his wife and sons – until getting a surprise visit from a powerful young wizard.

Janice LeAnn Brown (Just Roll with It) will serve as the series lead in the role of the powerful young wizard Billie, and she’ll be joined by David Henrie as Justin Russo, Mimi Gianopulos (American Princess) as his wife Giada and Alkaio Thiele (Call Me Kat) as his son Roman.

Selena Gomez, who led the original Wizards of Waverly Place in the role of the teen wizard Alex Russo is also returning as the guest star. She’ll executive produce this series alongside its creators Jed Elinoff and Scott Thomas, who previously helped Disney revive the beloved series That’s So Raven with the spin-off Raven’s Home.
