Live-action remakes of Disney’s animated classics are all the rage in Hollywood right now, and Snow White is the next one in line. The studio finally unveiled the first official look at Rachel Zegler as Snow White, in addition to pushing the film’s release date to 2025.

Snow White draws inspiration from the classic fairy tale by the Brothers Grimm, and it centers on a young princess who’s taken in by a group of seven dwarves living in the woods after she’s exiled by her wicked stepmother.

The first look photo shows Zegler’s princess Snow White surrounded by the seven dwarfs – Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. It also reveals that the studio relied on CGI to mimic the appearance of the characters from the original 1937 animated classic.

The studio previously said they’re “taking a different approach with these seven characters and have been consulting with members of the dwarfism community” to avoid reinforcing stereotypes from the original animated film, and added they’ll share more news as the film heads into production.

In addition to Zegler in the titular role, Snow White will also star Gal Gadot, Andrew Burnap, Ansu Kabia, and Colin Michael Carmichael. The film’s release date has been pushed due to the SAG-AFTRA strike, and it’s now set to premiere on March 21, 2025.
