Doja Cat has been teasing her next studio album on social media for quite some time and she just dropped the biggest bombshell about this record. The singer revealed she wants to make a full shift from pop to rap on her next album, developed under the working title Hellmouth.

In conversation with her fans on Twitter, Doja Cat revealed her new album will be “rap only” because pop doesn’t excite her anymore and she wants to prove herself as a rapper again.

“I also agree with everyone who said the majority of my rap verses are mid and corny. I know they are. I wasn’t trying to prove anything I just enjoy making music but I’m getting tired of hearing y’all say that I can’t so I will,” she wrote on Twitter.

The singer also revealed her new record will feature 10 tracks and 5 extras and revealed several potential song titles. Her tweets should be taken with a grain of salt until we get to hear her new music because she has a habit of trolling her followers by constantly announcing her retirement from music.

Doja Cat’s last album Planet Her peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart, received a Grammy nod for album of the year, and produced hit singles “Kiss Me More” ft SZA, “You Right” ft The Weeknd, “Need to Know”, “Woman”, and “Get Into It (Yuh)”.
