Doja Cat’s promo for her fourth studio album has been one wild rollercoaster, and she’s finally ready to get real with her fans. After trolling us about the album’s title and sound, the rapper finally dropped the first song from her upcoming fourth LP: the lead single “Attention”.

The Tanu Muino-directed video opens with Doja rapping from her car, while surrounded with paparazzi and screaming fans – and things only get wilder from there. She can’t escape everyone’s attention while walking down the streets of LA and noticing people with flesh-colored masks on every corner.

The release of “Attention” was a long time coming, and she teased it on social media with a series of cryptic tweets such as “scarlet was here”, “scarlet’s watching”, and “let myself heal, scar finally sealed.”

“Attention” will serve as the lead single from Doja Cat’s fourth studio album, and she’s yet to share its official title. She teased several possible options on social media, including Hellmouth and First Of All, but eventually backtracked on them all.

She’s also expected to go back to her hip-hop roots, drawing inspiration from Erykah Badu, John Coltrane, and 90s rap, after saying that her previous pop-leaning hit albums Hot Pink and Planet Her were only “cash-grabs”.
