Dolly Parton has been named MusiCares Person of the Year.

The MusiCares Person of the Year is an annual award given by MusiCares (the charity arm of The Recording Academy) who also distribute Grammy awards. The honor commends musicians for their dedication to philanthropy as well as their musical success.

Dolly Parton is the first country musician to win the award. The ceremony will take place on February 18th, 2019 in Los Angeles. The event is held during Grammy Week and will feature an array of talented artists paying their tribute to Parton. Last year, Miley Cyrus and Harry Styles were among the artists who performed as a tribute to Fleetwood Mac.

No artists for the coming event have been confirmed but we can safely assume that Miley Cyrus will return given that she is Parton’s goddaughter.

All proceeds from the event will support the MusiCares charity which aims to provide people in the music industry with a “place to turn in times of financial, medical, and personal need.”
