It’s been almost two months since Drake dropped his latest album Certified Lover Boy, but that’s not stopping him from ruling the charts. The Canadian rapper topped the Billboard 200 chart for the fifth week with this record album, becoming just the third artist this year to do so.

Certified Lover Boy returned to no. 1 with 74,000 equivalent album units sold during its latest week on the chart. Following its release on September 3rd, it debuted atop the Billboard 200 with the largest opening week of 2021 and sold a total of 613,000 album-equivalent units.

Drake didn’t face tough competition from the artists who released new albums during the latest charting week. Lana Del Rey’s Blue Banisters debuted at no. 8, while Elton John hit no. 10 with The Lockdown Sessions after managing to top the charts in the UK.

Certified Lover Boy is only the third album of 2021 to spend five or more weeks at no. 1. This milestone was previously achieved by Dangerous: The Double Album by Morgan Wallen, which became the first album since 1987 to spend its first 10 weeks at the top spot, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Sour, with five non-consecutive weeks at no. 1.
