We can always count on Drake to dominate the charts with each new album he shares with the world, but he exceeded our wildest expectations with Certified Lover Boy. In addition to debuting atop the Billboard 200 chart, this album produced an impressive number of Billboard Hot 100 hits.

Certified Lover Boy had a spectacular debut atop the Billboard 200 chart, with 613,000 album-equivalent units sold during its first week. It set a new record for the largest weekly sales for an album released in 2021, surpassing Kanye West’s Donda. It also had the biggest opening week in over a year, since Taylor Swift’s Folklore.

Certified Lover Boy is currently Drake’s 10th album to top the Billboard 200 chart, which makes him only the eighth artist in history to reach this milestone. The Beatles hold no. 1 spot with 19, Jay-Z is a close second with 14, Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand have 11 each, while Eminem, Elvis Presley, and Kanye West join Drake with 10 each.

When it comes to the Billboard Hot 100, Drake becomes the first artist ever to claim as many as nine of the top 10 positions at once. He’s also the first artist since The Beatles in 1964 to take all of the top five slots. “Way 2 Sexy” featuring Future and Young Thug debuted atop the Billboard Hot 100, and it was followed by “Girls Want Girls” feat. Lil Baby and “Fair Trade” feat. Travis Scott.
