Drake Lands Ninth No. 1 Album

Drake has just landed his ninth No. 1 album on Billboard 200 chart. 

The artist has earned the coveted stop with the surprise release of Care Package, which is a compilation of 17 of Drake’s stray tracks that were never officially released. 

Drake is now tied with Garth Brooks, Eminem, Madonna, and the Rolling Stones who all have nine albums top the chart. They are The Beatles (19), Jay-Z (14), Bruce Springsteen and Barbra Streisand (11), and Elvis Presley (10).

Per Billboard, the release of his new archival compilation album launches with 109,000 equivalent album units in the US according to Nielsen Music. Of that, 16,000 were in album sales.

At No. 2 on the new Billboard 200 is Ed Sheeran’s No.6 Collaborations Project, Billie Eilish’s When We All Fall Asleep, climbs one rung to No. 3, Lil Durk scores his first top 10 album with Love Songs 4 the Streets 2 and rounding out the top 5 is Chris Brown’s former No. 1 Indigo.
