Drake’s fans were hoping his new album For All the Dogs would be released next week, but that’s no longer the plan. The Canadian superstar announced his decision to postpone the release of his next album for next month so he could focus on finishing up his ongoing tour.

There’s been a lot of rumors surrounding the release of For All the Dogs, especially after Drake shared a cover art, drawn by his son Adonis, last month. He later announced his new album would hit the shelves on September 22 but quickly changed his mind.

Drake took to social media to announce that For All the Dogs will be released on October 6 instead because he wants to focus on wrapping up his It’s All a Blur Tour with 21 Savage in style.

“Okay, my dilemma I am faced with is I either cancel shows to finish the album or I complete the mission and drop the album before the last show. I owe you all these memories we are building and anywhere we have missed to date we will be spinning back for sure,” he explained on Instagram.

To soften the blow of the album’s postponement, Drake surprised his fans by sharing a new single “Slime You Out” ft. SZA this Friday.
