We can always count on Drake to give us another catchy banger, but he’d really outdone himself this weekend. The Canadian rapper shared two brand-new songs that we didn’t see coming since there was no promo involved.

“When To Say When” and “Chicago Freestyle” were both unveiled in a single music video, directed by Theo Skudra. Different segments of the video were filmed in Manhattan’s Diamond district and Drake’s hometown of Toronto.

Drake used these songs to pay homage to two of his favorite rappers – Jay-Z and Eminem. “When To Say When” utilizes the same sample as Jay-Z’s track “Song Cry,” while “Chicago Freestyle” features a nod to Eminem’s “Superman.”

This double single marks Drake’s first solo release of 2020. He previously teamed up with his frequent collaborator Future for a pair of tracks, titled “Life Is Good” and “Desires.” It’s unclear if any of these songs will be featured on his upcoming album, but the rapper previously said he’s planning to drop a new LP this year.
