Drake’s long-awaited sixth album Certified Lover Boy will finally be coming out on Friday.

The rapper made the announcement via a social media post in what might be the album’s cover—little cartoons of pregnant women.

“Certified Lover Boy September 3,” he posted on Instagram. The announcement comes after many months of rumors, delays, an ESPN teaser, a release-date battle with Kanye West, and a false alarm.

The album was originally supposed to come out in January 2021 but was postponed. Earlier this month, a new Drake verse was added to “Betrayal”, a song on Trippie Redd’s album Trip at Knight with lyrics that may have been a dig at West. “All these fools I’m beefin’ that I barely know/ Forty-five, forty-four (Burned out), let it go/ Ye ain’t changin’ shit for me, it’s set in stone,” Drake raps.

Last week Drake teased the album would be released after he hacked into the ESPN show SportsCenter with a trailer that features college football that’s interrupted by a grainy hooded figure holding a sign which read “CLB September 3”.

The album succeeds 2018’s Scorpion and Drake has released many songs between the albums including “Dark Lane Demo Tapes”.
