Dune: Part Two is one of the most anticipated films of 2023 and its production is finally set to kick off this summer. The highly-anticipated space epic will start shooting this month, shortly after Warner Bros. announced they’re shifting its premiere date.

According to local reports from Italy, Dune: Part Two is pre-shooting in Altivole, Italy in the Veneto region for two days, but that’s just the beginning. Full-on production is kicking off on July 21 in Budapest, Hungary, where the first installment was also filmed.

This announcement comes just a few days after Warner Bros. decided to delay the film’s release date by about a month. Dune: Part Two was originally given the pre-Thanksgiving date of October 20, 2023, before the studio decided to shift it to November 17, 2023, pitting it against Lionsgate’s prequel The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, set to premiere on the same day.

Timothée Chalamet, Rebecca Ferguson, Zendaya, Javier Bardem, and Josh Brolin are expected to reprise their roles from the first film, with Denis Villeneuve returning as a director. The new cast will include Léa Seydoux as Lady Margot, Christopher Walken as Emperor Shaddam IV, Florence Pugh as Princess Irulan, and Austin Butler as Feyd-Rautha.
