Now that’s what we call a classic Dynasty switch!
Friday’s episode of The CW’s Dynasty has finally revealed to fans who has taken over for Nicollette Sheridan as Alexis Carrington on the show.
Sheridan exited the show in March due to personal family matters. Back then she told TVLine, “Working on the Dynasty reboot and reprising the iconic role of Alexis has been thoroughly enjoyable, but the chance to spend precious time with my terminally ill mother is more important to me right now. I am hopeful that my fans will embrace my successor with as much passion as they embraced me.”

Just before Friday’s episode wrapped, Alexis’ bandages came giving fans their first look at Elizabeth Gillies — yes, the same Elizabeth Gillies who also plays Fallon on the show. The way to the “new” Alexis was paved after her long-lost son, Adam, pushed her into a fireplace, which didn’t kill her but did get the character the much-needed plastic surgery before the big switch.
Gillies took to Twitter the morning after the reveal to check the how Dynasty fans took to the chance and it seems that most are pleased with the reboot’s move.
